There was a SSR meeting held at ADS Deaf Club on Friday 22 May. Good news - it’s ADS turn to host the 50th NZDG in Auckland next year so I am pleased to announce who the ADS Host Organiser and Host Committee are for NZDG 2010!! I have asked six people with good skills/experience to join me on the Host Committee. It is important that we have a good Host Committee to work together as a team for a successful 50th NZDG 2010 - it’s a big job for everyone! - as Deaf people will also celebrate 50 years of Deaf sports in NZ on Labour Weekend 2010!!

Host Committee NZDG 2010:

• Wendy Schiess - Finance Co ordinator
• Lyn Drupsteen - Fundraising Co ordinator
• Sonia Pivac - Marketing Co ordinator (shared role)
• Lorraine Butler - Marketing Co ordinator (shared role)
• Sue Williams - Interpreter/Volunteer Co ordinator

It is expected that NZDG 2010 will hold at least 10 sports events and 3 social events in Auckland on 21-24 October 2010. So we need to plan well ahead and book a number of venues early for NZDG 2010 this year. Roll on, NZDG 2010!

About 10 sport events may likely be basketball, netball, indoor netball, 8 ball pool, lawn bowls, indoor bowling, 10 pin bowling, touch, golf, badminton. Sports sections delegates, please get in touch with Julie-Anne or me asap. If you have any questions, please do ask Julie-Anne or me.
